Scroll wheel support added
By popular demand, you can now hover your mouse over a news feed panel, and use the scroll wheel to scroll through the news headlines. Works in Internet Explorer and Firefox.
Firefox users: you can open links in new tabs either by clicking the middle mouse button, or by clicking the left mouse button while holding the CTRL or CMD key.

wow, great feature. Thanks a lot guys, not just for an excellnt free service but also for keeping it up and adding new features to it!
The last thing left would have to be a live chat box, so that you can chat with others on your Protopage.

For some reason, it doesn’t work quite right with me. I’m using FF 1.5, and when I try to use my scroll wheel, the panel does scroll a bit, but then the entire page scrolls down as well.
I’m using a Logitech laptop mouse. Is there some setting in Logitech or FF that I need to fix first?
Thanks! I LOVE Protopage by the way. Can’t last a day without visiting my page.

Something else that might help –
My PC is only on 1024 x 768, so my protopage exceeds the length of the browser window, meaning I need the browser scroll bar is displayed. When I’m at the top of my page, I can scroll the panels upwards with no problem, but when I scroll down my entire page scrolls down as well.
Conversely, when I’m at the bottom of my page, the panels scroll down just fine, but when I scroll up, the whole page scrolls upwards.
Hope this helps.

Thanks, the Firefox dual-scroll issue has now been fixed.

Perhaps it’s a catch 22, but now when I have a panel maximized, I can’t scrollwheel it at all. The panel, obviously doesn’t feel the need to scroll, because it’s maximized, and the page itself doesn’t scroll because my mouse is hovering over the panel. I can work around this by putting my mouse right off the edge of the maximized panel.
A small issue, to be sure, and a small price to pay for the convenience of a great feature.
– Goes without saying, but I love this service, use it daily, and talk it up to friends and co-workers constantly. – PV

Right. Either you guys fixed the maximized-panel-scrollwheel issue already, or it was all in my mind. Brilliant. Cheers – PV

Love Protopage! It’s been my start page for 3 weeks now and I can’t do without it.
Unfortunately the scroll feature is not working at all for me. Windows XP SP2, Firefox 1.5, Logitech Wireless with latest drivers.
But I’m sure it will be awesome once it works! :)

Thank you so much for the scroll wheel…Glad to see that was just added as I thought I must have had a brain fart before not knowing how to work it.
Keep all the great upgrades coming….
I am staying with you guys ….
