Upload photos to your Protopage
You can now upload as many photos as you want to your Protopage.
Images will automatically be resized to the size of the photo widget – this reduces the size of the photos to ensure that your page loads quickly.
To upload an image, go to the toolbar, choose ‘Add widget’, and then choose ‘Add photo’. Then follow the instructions within the widget.
We have also released a new ‘Leaf floating in pond’ wallpaper (as seen in the screenshot above). You can use this new wallpaper on your own Protopage by using the ‘Colors / Settings’ button on the toolbar at the bottom of your page.
Thank you for all of the search engine suggestions – they have been very helpful in putting together the new search widget (coming soon).

Very excellent!
Does anyone else have an issue when typing in a description at upload where the text is white on white?
It really isn’t a problem since that can be edited very easily afterwards.
Other than that, a great addition!

You guys are incredible. Unfortunately I am no longer able to do without Protopage. Does this make me an addict?

Can you use the photos you upload to Protopage as the background or do you still have to go through Imageshack or the like?
March 10th, 2006 at 9:43 am
It’s still imageshack if you want to upload your own backgrounds. We’ll add the ability to upload backgrounds directly in the future.

I just found you and I love the page, its soooooooo awesome, its what I wanted for a long time.
Now, I have a question, I’m a graphic artist, can I have the priviledge of designing some wallpapers for you?

Robin, thanks, and we’re looking into a way for people to be able to contribute wallpapers and share them – so we hope you might do us the privilege of your contribution when that feature goes live!

Man, I simply LOVE this work you guys are doing. As the unfortunate result of a little change, my home system got disconnected for three weeks or so. So I had to turn elsewhere for checking my mail and feeds and such… On a public computer I didn’t want to leave all those trails of what I’m doing, so I was totally pleased with having a protopage as my personal portal to all the things I wanna keep track of. Thank you, Protopage Team!!! If you guys ever quit this project, it will be my undoing!

Great article. I am just sad I dont know how to reply properly, though, since I want to show my appreciation like many other.

Is there anyway to have a different background for each of my pages or can I only have one general background?

I am a teacher and would love to post content to share with parents, students and other teachers.
Do you have a “community” of other teachers?
Do you have teacher-like wallpaper designs?
Do you need anyone to help develop content?
I am presently in Singapore and have much to share about teaching on this side of the world.

The directions published here aren’t working on my site, and I am not sure why. I am a Mac user running System 10.4.8 and a Firefox browser. When I upload my jpeg photo (60 KB in size) from the desktop of my computer and click upload, the screen just says “uploading…please wait.” But after 10 minutes it still hasn’t loaded. And if I refresh the page it just gives me the uploading photo page all over again as if I had uploaded nothing. Can anyone help?

I use Mac as well and got some issues with that too. I can say that to use Safari on Protopage is even a greater challange cuz you are not going to find edit buttons for your widgets there. They just don’t exist. For Mac users Opera seems to be the optimal solution so far. I’ve tried Safari, Firefox and Opera. The last one works best with the Protopage.

Is there a way to upload documents under a tab? Would love to make that available to my students.
