Happy new year!
Happy new year from all at Protopage! We’ve been releasing incremental performance improvements over the last two weeks – hopefully you’ve noticed the difference. We’ll continue to optimize the platform for maximum speed.
We’re currently working on a number of things including a Frequently Asked Questions page. Look out for more new features in 2007!

Hi! Is there any chance for the “mark as read’ feature reappearing in the new year? Thanks & greets.

Hi, love the work you’ve done. Are you having a problem with Gmail inbox previews at the moment? I have several different accounts I monitor in Protopage. Over the last 24 hours, all of them have said they have had a problem displaying the mail. When I go to the settings, the password seems to have gained a few characters! I reput my password in, and it works fine.

Is there a way to lock down the category view? There are times I need to click between tabs in different categories and it would be real convenient if I didn’t have to open the category view every time.
January 24th, 2007 at 11:06 am
MacsBaine – the best way to do this would be to create a new category, and copy the tabs you most frequently access from other categories into the new category. The ‘copy’ does not duplicate the content, it simply ‘references’ the tabs in other categories. Many people use this feature so that they can keep all of their tabs filed logically under different categories, but then also keep the most frequently accessed tabs accessible under a ‘frequently accessed tabs’ category.

Not quite what I’m looking for but I’ll have to play around with it and see if I can get it a way I’d like.
One other small question. Is there a way to print out a to do list? I only see that option in Rich Text stickies.
January 31st, 2007 at 4:52 pm
Hello guys,
I agree that the option to print a To-Do list is a good idea, (so far I’ve just had to highlight it then Print Selection in IE) but my main problem is that I use white text on most of my rich text notes, as they have a red or blue background.. and white contrasts well.
Problem is, when I go to edit them in v3, I can’t see any of the text because the editing textbox background is white, rather than defaulting to the background color of the widget itself like it used to do in v2. This seems like an easy fix.. as it was working great in the old version :) Any way you guys could fix it sometime soon? It means the difference between using protopage or not for me :) Incase you were wondering I’m using the latest version of IE7. I can’t remember if I’ve checked in IE6 but I think it’s white as well. Thanks!

*update*
Yep, IE6 has the same problem.

I’d like an option to have each section be resizable (horizonatally) fluidly when the browser window is resized. I usually browse fullscreen, and my start page fit fine… but when it’s not full screen I have to scroll side to side to see it all which is a slight annoyance.

Any idea why some links have favicons and some do not? These links do have favicons when the page is loaded! Is there a way I can update or change a favicon?

Just wanted to say thanks again for the great service you guys have been provided…this Protopage really keeps me in order!
I would like to mention again, like in a previous post, that Protopage could really use a forum. So we can hear from you about developments and so that users can share their knowledge of the power of Protopage and how it can best be used.
Please consider this seriously for I must admit I had a great time hearing from all the users while waiting for the new version of Protopage…and now its been extremely quite here on the postings…
thanks!

Would it be possible to set up a Protopage that is redirected to a selected domain name? What you’ve done with this is very impressive!
April 3rd, 2007 at 8:44 pm
DeafScribe – it is possible to set up a redirect, so that http://www.yourdomain.com redirects to http://www.protopage.com/yourpagename. This is a setting that your domain name registrar (where you bought the domain) will have. Please note that you should do a ‘redirect’ instead of a ‘mask’, if you are given the setting, because of cookie handling issues.
We’ll post in the next few days with news of how to access our new online tutorial/manual and of a few tweaks we’ve made to the look and feel.

Gotta love Guy Fieri helping out small busniess with his show especially in these toughtimes. We went to Albuquerque only because of the show and we also saw James Taylor while wewere there so an excellent road trip for the family.
